A Month to Catch Up

August has a slower rhythm to it. The big summer plans are mostly behind you, the fall calendar hasn’t filled in yet, and there’s a rare stretch where things feel a little quieter. It’s easy to coast through it. But this is one of the better times all year to look at your finances, precisely because nothing is forcing you to.

Once the year starts winding down, a lot of decisions tend to pile up at once, and many of them come with a December deadline.  Handling them in a calm month is a very different experience than scrambling through them at the end of the year.

You don’t have to do anything drastic right now. A single afternoon spent reviewing where things stand can take a lot of pressure off the months ahead.
